Our History

Established 1972

Cottage Loaf Bakery was established by my father in 1972. He started with one shop on Castle Lane West. He took over Gerald's in 1980 on the corner of Ensbury Park Road and Wimborne Road in Moordown. This led on to shops in Charminster, Poole, Northbourne, Kinson and Winton. Also lots of wholesale customers. In 1997  due to many issues he closed the business down. Maureen (mum) has carried on in the trade for different employers ever since until retiring a few years ago. I grew up in this trade and went on to qualify at college in the arts of bread making etc. I have worked in a couple of other bakeries over the years keeping my hand in, but also did Security work and qualified as an electrician. I married Lisa  a qualified and competent chef in 1998. We have 2 children Matthew and Kelly. With the knowledge of Mum, Lisa and myself we decided to re open the old business and supply fresh bread and lots of other products associated with a Bakers shop. There are not many around now due to the supermarkets. However, we are a family run business, all the staff are family and each has their own strengths that compliment this business.
